I am a registered architect in Maine, and maintain a practice in downtown Waldoboro. My interests in architecture center on design that supports simple forms and sustainable construction methods, as well as larger issues of landscape, site and community. I consider issues of space, scale, and light elemental in all projects.

The pragmatic solutions of vernacular buildings interest me, and my design ethic is grounded in environmental sensitivity and the importance of place. Historic buildings as well as modern spaces attract me, but most of all I like good bones in a building, and I strive to design spaces that are simple, flexible and innovative.

In the studio, I approach projects as a collaborative process between client, architect, and builder; this process identifies specific needs, and encourages creativity and inventiveness in problem solving.
